Wow. So realistic! The shakes from lighting look so much more prominent with charcoal than in a photo…

Actually, I don’t use charcoal. My first art teacher always told us to shade everything darker because you are able to get the different gradiations easier. For example, the lighting of the actual photo is MUCH lighter but there were many different minute shades. So, to make this more perceptable and easier to accomplish and, thus, to make the drawing look more realistic, you make everything darker. Because of that, many people think I use charcoal. As a sidefact, I actually hate using charcoal. XP I use regualar H and B shades of pencils.
