Heidi
Life, Work August 4th, 2008In the past, when anybody has gotten my name wrong, I have been called Rachel. Dont ask me why.
Now, apparently, it is Heidi.
I have worked at the same store for two and a half years. This lady J has been a customer at least that long. She has always known my name is Heather. She has always called me Heather. I have name tag prominently displayed that says Heather.
However, about a month ago, she began calling me Heidi.
One morning, she started yelling out “Heidi! Heidi!” trying to get my attention. I had no clue she was referring to me until the next time when we were chatting and she called me Heidi again.
I just let it go. Its no use trying to explain to her that my name is Heather. At least it is a less common name.
This is Heidi, signing off. *salute*

Haha. There is this one guy whom I only got to know this term because we’re superclassmates(meaning we have all the same classes this term), and during the first few days he got acquainted with me, he told me that whenever he forgets somebody’s name he’d name a person based on the way he or she looks like. Apparently, I looked like a Sheila instead of a Trisha. Haha.
Hmmm. Heidi? Maybe she’s getting old that’s why she forgot your name. Here, we call people who are either too old with poor memory or just simply people who tend to forget stuff ulyanin (pronounced as oolyanin). Maybe’s she’s ulyanin already. But then again, maybe there are just really some people who are not good with remembering names.
Btw, you look more like a Rachel than a Heidi.

Heidi brings to mind an image of a girl in pigtails, living on the mountains with her grandfather and a bunch’o billy goats. xD
My friends and I have yet to be called a wrong name just because we “look like a -insertnamehere-”, like what Trish said. xD I know my name has a lot of potential to be *tweaked* (i.e. Caroline, Karen Ann, Karina, Karenna etc 0_0) - but only because these names sound a lil’ similar. And I’ve been addressed as such before.
But Heidi = Heather = Rachel? Beats me.
