Yesterday Josh came by to pick me up for our date and he was talking to me and my stepmom for a bit. This conversation ensued…
Josh: I got these new sneakers. Do you like them, Love? I had the old ones for about four years; needed some new ones.
Me: Yeah, they’re nice. And no you didn’t. You didn’t have them for four years.
Josh: Yes I did.
Me: No you didn’t. We haven’t even been together for four years. I was with you when you got them.
Josh: I didn’t even have them in high school.
Me: Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. We haven’t even been out of high school for three years, let alone four.
Josh: Yes we have.
Me: No we haven’t. This May it’ll be three years.
Josh: oh.
Me: And I remember when I first moved here, I got new shoes. I got mine the same time as you got yours. And when I got these, I had had the others for at least two years because we were talking about how long we’d had our shoes and you had your old ones for six months and said that was too long and they were all messed up and I told you about how I had had mine for over two years and they were just now getting bad. So two years would be November 2005, which was two and a half years ago. So you had your old ones two and a half years max.
Josh: o_o
Me: You like to exaggerate.
Josh: It’s better than being accurate. It’s like being fashionably late.
Me: >.<
I saw at Amanda’s that it is now officially the year of the Rat in Chinese Zodiac. She mentioned the qualities so I started wondering what it said about me (and Josh since we were born the same year).
Year Of The Rabbit
1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999
People born in the Year of the Rabbit are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper. They are clever at business and being conscientious, never back out of a contract. They would make good gamblers for they have the uncanny gift of choosing the right thing. However, they seldom gamble, as they are conservative and wise. They are most compatible with those born in the years of the Sheep, Pig, and Dog.
True for me; about half true for Josh.
My element is fire, so I looked that up too…
From Wood we get Fire. Fire cannot exist by itself but is produced by burning wood.
From Fire we get Earth. Symbolically fire reduces everything into ashes, which becomes part of the earth again.
Metal is controlled by Fire. Metal can only be melted and forged with great heat.
Fire is controlled by Water. Nothing will put out a fire as fast as water.
And…
Rabbit people love to play under the moonlight. Quite fanciful, they respond to the power and beauty of nature and are always being pulled one way and the other to examine what they find. They are the luckiest of all twelve signs! But, it’s more a result of “the harder I work, the luckier I get” than taking crazy chances. They are cautious, conservative, bright, and have a good head for business. Supremely pleasant to have around, these affectionate, naturally shy peacemakers seldom ever lose their temper. They sometimes appear to be singing the blues because of a natural but short-lived tendency towards despondency. Rabbits always inspire deep admiration and trust.
The Fire Rabbits stand out from the crowd of other Rabbits. You might expect Rabbits to be passive, quiet, and loners. Not so, the Fire Rabbits. These extroverts are leaders of the pack! Fire Rabbits intuitively sense the right way to bring out the best in themselves and other people. They are brave creatures, thirsty for life. Others eagerly follow them because of the promise of adventure and great fun, and they are never disappointed. Visionary explorers, Fire Rabbits inspire others to see beyond the surface. Unlike other Rabbits, Fire Rabbits have the potential to be truly rich. Enormously capable and hardworking, Fire Rabbits can achieve great things others cannot match. Captains in charge of their lives, they experience smooth sailing in their careers. The multifaceted Fire Rabbits experience great versatility in their lives. Their interests can range from Agatha Christie to bungee jumping, from caviar to enchiladas, from snowskiing to Scrabble. Speaking of Scrabble, spell Love: L-O-V-E is very kind to Fire Rabbits. Excellent lovers, they rapturously charm their partners with cozy fireplaces, affectionate hugs, and, most of all, undying support and loyalty.
What is interesting is that the first paragraph describes me and the second describes Josh.
What does your Chinese Zodiac say about you? Is it accurate?
